Sangamon Astronomical Society's Double Star Observation Program

This program is intended to introduce the amateur astronomer to 100 of the most interesting double and multiple stars in the universe.

Any telescope may be used, but one with an objective 60mm in diameter or larger is recommended. To record your observations, you may use the log sheet provided, or one with similar information. If you use your own log sheets, they should include: object, date, time, power, seeing, instrument, and a drawing of the double or multiple system. Draw two dots in the box provided, with the size of the dot indicating magnitude, and the distance between the dots representing separation? A description is optional, but can be used to describe your observations of the star's color or interesting properties.

As a member of S.A.S., you can receive a certificate of completion from the club after you complete the observation list and submit your log for review.
