Updates

SAS discussed the C.H. Lanphier Dome project at this meeting. We are close to aquiring land near Pleasant Plains Illinois. Final design plans have been done and we should be about two weeks away from moving the scope from its current location to the new location.

Next months discussion topic: With the construction of the new dome, we need to start thinking about what kind of CCD camera we want for the scope. So the discussion topic for next month will be for members to come back with actuall CCD camera they found that would be suitable for our purposes. Once we decide on a camera we will start the grant process to fund the purchase.

Light Pollution Committee: No Report.

Public and Private Events: SAS's Annual Summer Outing will be July 28th and 29th at the Jim Edgar Pather Creek State Park. Everyone is asked to bring their own food and drink.

Star Party: Registration for the IDSSP 2006 is now up to 30.

Presentation

SAS member Glenn Cunningham showed pictures of a trip he made to Kitt Peak which is just outside of Tucson Arizona. Pictures were of the various telescopes on the mountain.
