Updates

SAS discussed the final plans for the IDSSP 2006. Registrations are coming in at good pace and we are already set to have one of our best and biggest events to date. Matt Will has been added to the speaker list for saturday. Everone is asked to meet back at Morgan Stanley on Sept 17th to stuff packets for the registration desk.

Also discussed at the meeting was the moving of the observatory. Weather has prevented the moving of the dome from its current loction to its new home up till now. We will try again this weekend but alas the weather does not look good for this weekend either.

At a previous meeting, specifically a dome moving meeting, the club decided to add two new board members. Gary Woerner and Clarke Woodruff were added to the list of five previous board memebers.

Treasury Report:  Jim Rosenthal handed out the Treasures report.

Planning and Grants:  No Report.

Observing Program:  No Report.

Light Pollution Committee: No Report.

Public and Private Events: The next SAS public event is set for Wednesday October 11th at the Chatham Area Public Library. We have been asked by the Library to come out and do a presentation.

Star Party: Registration for the IDSSP 2006 is now over 100 people.
