Minutes of the monthly meeting of Sangamon Astronomical Society held April 21st, 2005 at 7:00 PM at Don Jardines Observatory.

Updates

Astronomy Day is May 14th and the Rochester Public library. The event starts at 4pm and goes to ??? There was also a motion put on the floor to buy a finder scope for Marty Morris's scope. Motion was seconded.

Treasury Report:    Darren reported that our taxes were filed early. Even though we are a non for profit, we still fill our tax forms to show that we are a non for profit. We are also going to make receipts to give out to people who make a donation to the club and want to write it off on their taxes.

Planning and Grants:  No Report.

Observing Program:  No Report.

Public and Private Events: Astronomy Day is May 14th at the Rochester Public Library. SAS Member Gary Woerner made a "Donation Box" in the shape of a observing dome. SAS Founder Don Jardine made a nice display for Astronomy Day to help lure in new members.

Star Party: There will be a star party meeting in the next two weeks.

This months presentation was brought in by Ray Watt. It was a video about comet hunters detailing their experiences.
